1. Grant of Conditional Use

Subject to this License, LeafLock contributors grant you a worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use, modify, and distribute the LeafLock codebase (“Software”) only for lawful purposes and in accordance with the conditions below.

2. Permitted Use

You may:

• Run the Software for personal, educational, research, or internal business purposes.
• Modify the Software and maintain private or public forks for collaboration, learning, and contribution back to the upstream project.
• Redistribute unmodified copies of the Software, provided that this License is included and recipients are informed of the applicable restrictions.

3. Commercial and Revenue Restrictions

Caution

• Forks or derivative works of the Software may not be used to generate direct or indirect revenue, commercial benefit, or financial consideration without a separate commercial agreement from the LeafLock maintainers.
• Offering paid support, hosted services, or premium functionality built on top of a fork of the Software is prohibited, including but not limited to SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, consulting, training, or support services, unless expressly authorised in writing by the LeafLock maintainers.
• Any attempt to monetise a fork or derivative work renders this License void for the offending party, and all granted rights immediately terminate.

4. Contribution Policy

By submitting contributions to the Software, you affirm that you are legally entitled to provide the contribution and that it is offered under this License. Contributions remain owned by their authors, and you grant the project maintainers the irrevocable right to publish, modify, and relicense the contribution within the scope of this project.

5. Compliance with Law

You must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and export controls when using or redistributing the Software, including data protection and consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction.

6. Disclaimer of Warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO THE QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF THE SOFTWARE IS WITH YOU.

7. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE LEAFLOCK MAINTAINERS OR CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE.

8. Termination

Failure to comply with any term of this License automatically terminates your rights under it. Upon termination, you must cease all use and distribution of the Software and destroy or return all copies in your possession.
